October 8: ChildCareGroup Tea at The Adolphus to feature Alvin and the Chipmunks and their creators.

11: Children’s Cancer Fund presents a new fund-raising event “Wine with Everything! A Grape Night…A Great Cause,” from 7 – 9 p.m., at a private home in Dallas

12: deBoulle Goes to the Dogs is a party for you and your pooch! deBoulle helps raise funds for Operation Kindness by bringing a unique, innovative event to the Dallas social scene

13, 14, 15: The Dallas Modern Expo, the Premier Modernism Show of Texas, is a two-day exposition and sale of 20th century modern furniture and decorative arts with an emphasis on the mid-century.

14: “Dog Days of Hollywood” A celebration of pets and people who love them benefiting Paws In The City Animal Rescue at 7:00 PM Splashlight Studios, 2410 Farrington, Dallas, TX 75207.

14: 2006 Dallas Symphony Orchestra AT&T Gala featuring cellist
Yo-Yo Ma and violinist Joshua Bell “SoulStrings” Presented by the Dallas Symphony Association.

 21: The Silver Spur Ball is celebrating its second year as a major fundraiser for The Wilkinson Center.  This Mini Cooper convertible is the chance ticket prize and you need not be present to win.  Only 500 tickets will be sold at $100 each.  Details.  Join us at Eddie Deen's Ranch in downtown Dallas, the ball will feature some of the best BBQ in town and dancing to a live band.

21: BeatLeukemia Ball benefiting Leukemia Texas Research & Patient Aid. The 2006 black-tie gala will be held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas. The Ball begins at 7:00 pm with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and a distinctive silent auction followed by a customized dinner created by Executive Chef Tom Welther.
