'Ebola No Problem,' Says Sheila Jackson Lee
by Tom McGregor    Wed, Oct 15, 2014, 11:53 PM

U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D.-Tx.) contends that "Ebola is not an epidemic."

The Daily Caller reports that, "Congressional Democrats are siding with the Obama administration — and against a growing number of Americans — when it comes to a government mandated travel ban from Ebola hotspots in Africa."

Sheila Jackson Lee is quoted as saying that, “I don’t think we gain anything by spending our time talking about quarantines [of entire countries]. We don’t have an epidemic, and for that reason I don’t think that calling for a quarantine of countries answers the question. We have to turn internally and look at our own selves and make sure our health infrastructure is where it needs to be.”

As reported by the Daily Caller, "While 67 percent of Americans support the idea of a travel ban, many elected Democrats are decidedly against the idea. The Hill reports, “House Democrats are pushing back hard against proposals to institute a travel ban in the fight against the Ebola virus.”

Sheila Jackson Lee should not be deemed an expert on science & medicine. She once claimed that NASA had already planted the American flag on the planet Mars.

Sheila Jackson Lee is correct: there's no Ebola epidemic in the U.S. One man already had it when he came from west Africa, and two nurses who dealt directly with him subsequently contracted it. Larry King has had twice as many wives as U.S. Ebola cases. Maybe we should quarantine him instead.
