Reality Check for 'Made in China' Failed Pop Singer

BEIJING:  The Chinese State-owned media launched a new 'China Dream' marketing campaign by enticing an ordinary expat to pursue fame as a pop singer in China. Canadian-born Chelsey Mark accepted the challenge, but despite the Chinese media's best propaganda efforts, he has garnered few fans even in his adopted hometown of Beijing. 

AsianWave reports that, "Chelsey Mark is known as a great host and performer in China. Being born and raised in Canada, Chelsey fuses the Western and Eastern cultures to master his craft. He, however, has maintained a modest attitude that is admired by the youth. Read on as this ultimate artist talks about traveling, his career, his family, politics, and motivating the youth."

The Chinese media would use superlatives to describe Chelsey Mark's stage and TV presence , but such phrases have not proved helpful to his pursuit of fame and fortune.

According to AsianWave, "Now, Chelsey has made a name for himself as a true artist. Hosting, performing, singing and even acting—he has been recognized in a number of international events and local TV shows and commercials, which includes a hopeful acting stint in a Hollywood movie. With all these, Chelsey still considers himself to be “chasing a dream which does not come easy for him."

Nevertheless, Chelsey Mark continues to chase after fame in spite of his long list of short comings, such as poor singing ability, unattracive features and lack of performing talent.
