US Chamber of Commerce Chief Dealmaking in Cuba

President Thomas Donohue of the United States Chamber of Commerce is  abig fan of the Communist Castro regime of Cuba. He paid a visit to its capital city, Havana to encourage U.S.-based conglomerates to invest in Cuba.

According to the BBC News, "A delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce has begun its first visit to Cuba in 15 years. Chamber president Thomas Donohue said he was in Cuba to assess the economic changes taking place under President Raul Castro."

Donohue is quoted as saying about his Cuba trip, "We are very pleased to be here."

As reported by the BBC News, "The United States imposed an embargo on the communist-run island more than 50 years ago following the triumph of the Cuban Revolution. Members of the Cuban community in the US have criticised the visit."

Donohue could be scheduled to have a "secret lunch" with Obama at the White House in the near future.
