Anonymous Leader Lives with his Mother

Anonymous Brown.jpgA so-called terrorist hackers organization, calling itself Anonymous, had issued press releases claiming to launch violent protests in the European Union. The group contended it had sparked revolutionary uprisings in Orange County California last summer.

Nevertheless, the FBI launched a sting operation on Anonymous and discovered it was nothing more than a one-person organization led by a 31-year-old man who still lives with his mother. The FBI has yet to disclose whether the accused hacker was living in a basement.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, “a North Texas man linked to the worldwide hacking group Anonymous is facing federal charges for YouTube videos and Twitter postings in which he taunts the FBI and threatens to ruin one agent’s life.”

Last month, Barrett Brown was taken into federal custody in Dallas. However law enforcement officials wouldn’t say he had been detained until Thursday, when the U.S. attorney’s office announced a three-count indictment against him.

According to the Houston Chronicle, “the 31-year-old Brown is charged with Internet threats, conspiracy to make publicly available restricted personal information of government employee and retaliation against a federal law enforcement officer.”

FBI had lured Mr. Brown into the sting by using his mother as bait.
