Israeli Concerns over Iran just ‘Noise,’ Obama Says

Assist Tehran.jpgPresident Barack Obama has blasted Israeli concerns over Iran’s construction of a nuclear bomb as nothing more than just mere, “noise.”

The Times of India reports that, “President Barack Obama likened Israeli pressure on him to draw a line in the sand over Iran’s nuclear ambitions as noise he tries to ignore, according to remarks aired on Sunday.”

Prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel urged the United States to establish what he described as ‘red line’ regarding Tehran’s nuclear program beyond which the U.S. would be compelled to act.”

According to the Times of India, “Iran insists its uranium-enrichment activities are for civilian energy-producing purposes, but the West fears it is for building nuclear weapons.”

Israel is perceived as pushing a much tougher hard lined approach, which would include military action, while the White House would prefer instead to let diplomacy and sanctions dissuade Iran from building the bomb.
