Texas Democrats Claim Ted Cruz not Hispanic

Able Cruz.jpgIn the latest round of wacky attacks on Republicans, the Texas Democratic Party chairman is claiming that the Lone Star state’s GOP U.S. Senate candidate, Ted Cruz, is not Hispanic despite clear evidence to the contrary.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, “at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, party officials touted Texas Senate nominee Ted Cruz as one of its party’s Latino rising stars.”

Nevertheless, Gilberto Hinojosa, new chairman of the Texas Democratic Party, accuses Mr. Cruz of falsely identifying his Hispanic heritage.

In an exclusive interview with WFAA-TV in Dallas, Hinojosa said, “this is a guy who didn’t claim that he was Hispanic anytime before he won a primary.”

According to the Houston Chronicle, “Hinojosa accused the Texas Republican Senate candidate of denying his Latino heritage by not using his given first name.”

Hinojosa said, “if I was named Rafael Cruz, I would be proud to use that name. This guy has denied his own Hispanic heritage, if he is a Hispanic.”

This is dumb. Ted Cruz didn't use his first name? Most of my Asian friends have a "Christian" name because they assume (rightly often) that their neighbors cannot pronounce their given names. They are still Asian, flesh & blood. Stupid, stupid. Distractions and dodging = Democrats.
