NEA Tells Community Organizers ‘Read Saul Alinsky’

Alinsky Obama.jpgPresident Barack Obama started his political career as a community organizer in Chicago. Apparently, the National Education Association intends to train more community organizers to grab political power by recommending on its official website for them to read ‘Rules for Radicals,’ by Saul Alinsky.

Mr. Obama appears to have closely followed Mr. Alinsky’s guidebook for seizing power. In the paperback ‘Rules for Radicals’ published by Vintage Press, Alinsky wrote on page 103, “the organizer’s job is to inseminate an invitation for himself, to agitate, introduce ideas, get people pregnant with hope and a desire for ‘change’ and to identify you as the person most qualified for this purpose. Here the tool of the organizer, in the agitation leading to the invitation as well as the actual organization and education of local leadership, is the use of the question, the Socratic method.”

Mr. Alinsky calls for a community organizer, turned President such as Obama to “play God.” He wrote on page 61 that, “the ego of the organizer is stronger and more monumental than the ego of the leader. The leader is driven by the desire for power, while the organizer is driven by the desire to create. The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for which man can reach to create, to be a ‘great creator’ to play God.”

Ever wonder why Obama emphasized the word “change” in his illustrious campaign for the White House in 2008. In accordance with Mr. Alinsky’s advice, Mr. Obama is seeking to impose a revolution of the masses. In Alinsky’s prologue on page xxii, he wrote, “a reformation that masses our people have reached the point of disillusionment with the past ways and values. They don’t know what will work but they do know that the prevailing system is self-defeating, frustrating and hopeless. They won’t act for ‘change,’ but won’t strongly oppose those who do. The time is then ripe for revolution.”

Alinsky was a sorry, crude, communist, and a trouble maker, who "inspired" a lot of mutton headed and foolish young "commies", including the young Hillary Rodham [aka "Hillary Clinton"].

To see this sort of sorry commie "Alinsky" approach infiltrating our schools is very disheartening, but it does tell us what those "in charge" of the NEA and the current rotten commie "administration" are really trying to do.

By the way, even before the reign of the "Clintonistas" the folks who were really in charge [and hiding for cover lest they be "found out" by the American public] of the Carter administration were also commies and big "fans" of Alinsky, and they also tried to widely distribute this book by Alinsky.

One of the biggest pieces of craziness from the right is their constant need to have a bogeyman to fear and to scare with.

If you cannot have one, make one up. Saul Alinsky is the right's current bogeyman.

Amazingly, the right will deny that allowing the John Birch Society to come to their mettings means that the GOP is "infected" by that group's ideoligical insanity (Sure, Eisenhower really was a Commie - LOL), but in the same breath, assert that Alinsky's ideology must be infecting anyone who recognizes that he knew how to organize.

Frankly, I find the politics of having a bogeyman relatively disgusting. Whether you do it from the left or right, attack your opponent's ideas based on what they actually are, not because they agree with some bogeyman on some good ideas.

(Hitler made highways; but Americans who believe in good roads are not NAZIs!)

I purchased Rules for Radicals around the time of the 2008 election and found it enlightening, nearly as much as I did Mein Kampf. While the goals of both books are repugnant, many of the methods they espouse have been proven to be effective. Rhetoric and persuasion -- salesmanship, if you will -- are required to put ideas in practice. So long as every one who has a pulse (not even required in Chicago) can vote, it will be necessary to persuade the nitwits and booboisie (apologies to H. L. Mencken)to buy those ideas.

Every non-incumbant running for president campaigns on "change". Eisenhower did it, Kennedy did it, Reagan did it, both Bushes did it. Did anyone expect Obama to campaign on continuing Bush's policies?

And for all that alarm over change, what has he actually changed? He continued the Bush timetable in Iraq, he is continuing the Bush occupation of Afghanistan, he has the same indifference toward Iran and NKorea, he has kept Gitmo open, he has actually boosted military spending - so what changes has he made that frighten you so?

What changes has he made? Have you looked at the deficit lately?

Austin, you can't be serious.

He ran AGAINST Bush policies. But he has not quit most of them. In fact, he accellerated the SPENDING part that the Democrats criticize so strongly...yet this Congress...that has been in power for TWO MORE YEARS than Obama, has forced policies and laws onto the public that Bush would have never done....and the nation is worse off under Obama than anyone that came before him.

For further reading on Alinsky, there is an article "Alinsky: A Complicated Rebel" in the 8/11/2010 issue of National Review. The article reviews Nicholas von Hoffman's recent book about Alinsky, and has some surprising revelations. I might have to re-think my view of Alinsky's objectives. Perhaps some had merit.

Obama, the NEA, etc follows the leftist line & all of you guys defending such "tripe" need to wake up! There is danger to this country with such leadership & allowing this to continue will bring down this country!

Bob Reagan...with your acceptance of Alinsky principles and deep would make a great commodity trader on Wall Street...maybe mortgage deriviatives, oil futures, a soybean vs. fish oil straddle or two....whatever makes the commissions flow.

Thank you, rufuslevin. You are too generous in your compliment, but someday I might give those activities a try. Right now, however, I have enough for both my needs and my caprices.
