|Latin America Jumpstarts Carrefour Sales Growth|

France-based supermarket chain Carrefour enjoyed strong sales growth from the Latin America region.
The BBC News reports that, "French retail giant Carrefour has reported a 3.2% rise in underlying first quarter sales, beating analysts' expectations. total sales of €21bn ($22.4bn; £15.2bn), helped by strong growth in Latin America."
Argentina and Brazil were engine drivers of growth for Carrefour sales.
According to the BBC, "Sales in its home market of France rose 2.5%, with sales at its hypermarkets - which account for nearly a quarter of group revenues - up 2.1%. However, Carrefour performed less well in China, where sales fell by 13%."
China's economy is entering an era of slower economic growth rates.
