Join us at the Housing Crisis Center's Patriot Party on Friday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Housing Crisis Center's mission is to prevent homelessness and stabilize those at risk in decent, affordable,
One of the most important – and most vulnerable – groups HCC serves
are homeless, disabled veterans. HCC is the largest non-profit provider of
permanent supportive housing (PSH) for veterans, providing the most
comprehensive, clinical, and supportive housing for veterans in the Metroplex.
PSH serves the chronically homeless and disabled sub-population of homeless
where veterans disproportionately fall due to issues associated with military service.
PSH as a housing program has literally changed the face of homelessness.
In Dallas the number of chronically homeless has decreased by 47% since 2004, in part due
to the services offered by HCC. In 2012, the Christian Science Monitor has noted,
“There has been a paradigm shift from emergency shelters...That system is merely
a band-aid with a big revolving door, not having any meaningful impact in reducing
homelessness.” PSH ends homelessness.
Additionally, supporting a chronically homeless veteran on the streets of Dallas can cost the taxpayer between $60,000 and $100,000 annually. When that same vet is housed through HCC, the cost hovers around $9,000.
HCC hosts an annual Patriot Party, a cocktail party fundraiser (with silent and live
auctions and live music) that raises money to support the housing programs
offered to veterans.
The 4th Annual Patriot Party will be on Friday, November 14th, 2014
at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, starting at 7 PM.
There is room for the public to join us!
Tickets can be purchased at $200 each. Sponsorships begin at $1,500.
Tickets are not available for purchase at the door. They must be purchased in advance.
