US Secretary of State John Kerry has just pledged to the North Korean regime that he intends to eject thousands of U.S. troops out of South Korea.
According to the Chosun Ilbo, "Seoul is reeling from remarks by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry that seemed to promise a reduction of the U.S. Forces Korea if North Korea denuclearizes."
Kerry is quoted as saying that, "We've said from day one that if North Korea wants to rejoin the community of nations, it knows how to do it. It can come to the talks prepared to discuss denuclearization."
As reported by the Chosun Ilbo, "There is speculation about secret talks between Washington and Pyongyang, especially given the abrupt release of Jeffrey Fowle, one of three Americans detained in the North."
Kerry's remarks were not pre-approved by the Seoul government.
