Sen Udall Smears Tractor Salespersons on Campaign Trail Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Fri, Sep 26, 2014, 12:40 AM

Sen. Mark Udall (D.-Co.) is running for re-election and slamming his GOP opponent, Cory Gardner, over a TV ad that praises tractor salespersons. Udall is also offended that Gardner claims the highly-partisan Democrat Party Senator is allegedly a "very nice guy."

According to the Daily Caller, "Colorado Democratic Sen. Mark Udall is offended by a new campaign ad aired by his opponent, Republican Rep. Cory Gardner, in which Gardner calls him a “very nice guy.”

Gardner is quoted as saying that, “My dad? Well, he sells tractors, just like my granddad. And I’m darned proud of that.”

As reported by the Daily Caller, "He goes on to point out that two of Udall’s cousins are senators (Tom Udall from New Mexico and Mike Lee from Utah) and that Udall’s father, Morris “Mo” Udall, who was a respected longtime congressman, once ran for president. Gardner then contrasts that with his own family history, gesturing to his father in the background, working on a tractor."

Sen Udall struck back by saying that Gardner is "low" and crossed the line for praising tractor salespersons.
