On the very day President Barry Obama launched air strikes against terrorists in Syria, the nation's commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces was observed flashing his Starbucks paper cup and saluting the Marines Corps.
U-T San Diego reports that, "On a day President Barack Obama talked about in Syria and Iraq and the "" of climate change, some critics and reporters focused instead on a military faux pas of his -- a salute of two Marines with a cup in his hand. "
On the same day, Obama arrived at the United Nations headquarters to announce that Global Warming is a more dangerous threat to global security than radical Islamist jihadists.
According to U-T San Diego, "The so-called "Starbucks salute," as Twitter dubbed it, nabbed international news stories and attention on social media when video of the gesture was posted on the official White House account shortly after the president exited the helicopter Marine One in New York to speak about climate change."
Marine Corps regulations calls for people to salute a U.S. Marnies without holding an object in their hand.
