Sen. Kay Hagan (D.-N.C.) has bailed out on a confidential hearing to address the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) threat to U.S. citizens. Instead, she participated in a meet-and-greet with Wall Street's leading bankers.
Townhall reports that, "Records indicate that Sen. Kay Hagan (D., N.C.) did not attend a classified hearing that focused on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS) due to a fundraiser that was held for her in New York City."
Sen. Hagan placed greater concern to boost her re-election campaign war chest than to fight radical Islamists beheading Americans.
According to Townhall, "The issue of ISIL has been thrust into the spotlight of the race between Hagan and her Republican opponent, Thom Tillis, who of not doing enough to stop the terrorist group during its rise."
Hagan has refused to comment on her decision to attend the Wall Street fundraiser, citing "bad optics."
