CNN President Jeff Zucker is seeking to fire most hard news reporters and replace them with Hollywood tabloid journalists.
The Daily Caller reports that, "In mid-June Variety‘s senior TV editor Brian Steinberg wrote that several ad buyers were bristling from CNN’s new emphasis on entertainment reporting and straying from the hard news for which it has always been known."
CNN has earned notoriety in recent years for focusing its news more on inflattable rubber ducks than with exposing the dangers of terrorism in the Middle East.
According to the Daily Caller, "Employees in CNN’s major bureaus of New York, Atlanta and Washington are on edge these days as some anticipate more cuts. The feeling is that they’ll happen in December, but they could come far sooner than that."
CNN is getting trounced by Fox News in cable news ratings.
