Money Woes for Robin Williams amidst Suicide Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Wed, Aug 13, 2014, 01:17 AM

Comedian Robin Williams was plagued by serious money problems before he committed suicide a few days ago.

The Daily Telegraph of London reports that, "Robin Williams was found hanged after telling friends he had “serious money troubles” and had sought treatment for depression in the weeks before his death, it has emerged. The 63-year-old actor, who was once reputed to be worth £75 million, had complained of losing a large chunk of his fortune in alimony payments to his two ex-wives, and had been trying to sell his 600-acre ranch in California to raise much-needed funds."

“All he could talk about were serious money troubles…Robin was known for being so generous to his friends and family during the height of his success, and would help anyone out that needed it. There was also frustration that Robin expressed at having to take television and movie roles he didn’t want to take, buy had to for the pay cheque."

According to the Telegraph, "His final bout of depression, which several weeks in a rehabilitation clinic had failed to lift, may have been triggered in part by the cancellation of his latest television show The Crazy Ones in May, after just one series."

Robin Williams expressed grave concerns about paying too much alimony to his two ex-wives.

What compelled Robin Williams to call time out? The rumors of repeated relapses, sudden money problems, the axing of his tv show not even one season in, his failure to finish a recent rehab stint, the inability to reckon with his public persona and the reality of his private situation and the speculation that he was slowly drinking himself to death….?
