Media Mogul Jimmy Lai Battles Leftist Hong Kong Media Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Tue, Aug 5, 2014, 12:10 AM

The Hong Kong media establishment has expressed rage and scorn, because a local media mogul, Jimmy Lai Chee-ying, strongly supports former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a Republican.

According to Wikipedia, "Lai pioneered a reader-centric philosophy with paparazzi journalism in Hong Kong based on publications such as USA Today and The Sun. His best-selling Next Magazine and Apple Daily newspaper, feature a mix of racy tabloid material and news items oriented to the mass market with plenty of colour and graphics that attracts a wide range of readers, some of whom are also critics of Lai and his ideology."

Jimmy Lai has mocked CNN as the so-called "Commie News Network."

As reported by Wikipedia, "If you have fewer friends, you have more readers.[7] Among Lai's heroes are Friedrich Hayek, John James Cowperthwaite and Milton Friedman, bronze busts of each stand in the entrance hall to Next Media."

Jimmy Lai refuses to back down against his rivals and his home has frequently been invaded by Leftist militants.
