BEIJING: A few young Chinese couples have become so fearful of getting wiped out by marriage expenses that some brides-to-be are purchasing wedding gowns made from toilet paper.
China Radio International reports that, "Some delicate wedding dresses made out of tissue have been displayed at a shopping mall in Guangzhou, capital of south Shina's guangdon Province, attracting many citizens to attract photos."
The fashion trend for toilet paper dresses appears to be more popular in Southern, China, but TP designers hope to roll out more shops in Eastern and Northern China as well.
Nevertheless, some experts are cautioning brides that toilet paper dresses may not be suitable for outdoor weddings, especially if it rains.
Currently, toilet paper dresses are only on sale at the Guanzhou Shopping Mall.
