Chinese Media Goes Bonkers over Bob Beckel Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Mon, Jul 14, 2014, 12:50 AM

BEIJING:  The Chinese State-owned media is calling for the resignation of Fox News TV host Bob Beckel for allegedly going on a racist rant live On Air. Beckel is a diehard Democrat Party operative, a former aide to President Jimmy Carter and campaign manager of Walter Mondale's failed 1984 bid for the White House.

China Radio International reports that, "A California state senator has called on Fox News host Bob Beckel to step down over his recent racist comment about Chinese people. Senator Ted Lieu's call came after Beckel said during a broadcast last Thursday of "The Five" that "Chinese are the single biggest threat to the national security of the U.S. … Do you know what we just did? As usual, we bring them over here and teach a bunch of Chinamen – err, Chinese people – how to do computers and then they go back to China and hack into us."

The Chinese media is calling the Democrat Party strategist a "racist and xenophobic" who allegedly poses a "threat to the American people."

According to China Radio International, "Lieu said that Beckel's comment was the second time he had made ill-considered remarks about Chinese people; in 2013, Beckel said on The Five that he had once gone swimming, and afterward, his "eyes blew up" and "it made me look Oriental." Lieu, a Chinese-American, said he was outraged in a statement addressing the incident."

The Democrat operative Beckel has not issued an apology yet.
