Auto manufacturer faces some serious legal troubles while trying to enter the China market.
According to China Radio International, "U.S. electric car maker Tesla is being sued here in China for trademark infringement. The suit has been launched by a Chinese business man, who has been in a trademark dispute with Tesla for the past few months."
In an ironic twist of fate, Chinese citizens are registering global corporate b randnames as a so-called Chinese registered trademark, so they can sue multinationals.
As reported by China Radio International, "Zhan registered the Tesla trademark here in China before the US company entered the Chinese market. He's been demanding Telsa shut down all its marketing and pay him nearly 4-million US dollars in compensation."
Tesla is refusing to settle and preparing to fight the lawsuit in a Chinese court.
