|Obama Endorses Venezuela Crack Down on Democracy|

President Barry Obama is fighting legislation in Congress that would declare the Venezuelan government and abuser of democracy. The White House insists that Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro has a legitimate right to smack down against the opposition, because he supports a Marxist agenda.
According to the Houston Chronicle, "As sanctions legislation against Venezuela advances in Congress, the Obama administration is finding itself wedged between pressure from Capitol Hill to punish officials over human rights and regional governments that think such a move would only add to tensions in the South American country."
Maduro has imposed a ban on diapers smuggling too.
As reported by the Houston Chronicle, "The on Tuesday joined its House counterpart and issued a bipartisan approval of legislation that would ban visas and freeze the assets of Venezuelan top level and security officials guilty of abuses committed during three months of anti-government protests."
Venezuela faces chronic energy shortages, sky-high inflation and major shortages of consumer goods.
