Solar Panels 'Made in China?' White House 'No Comment' Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Sun, May 11, 2014, 10:35 PM

BEIJING:  Were solar panels installed in the White House 'Made in China?' President Barry Obama is refusing to answer that question citing so-called National Security concerns.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, "Technicians have finished installing solar panels on the White House roof, capping a project that President Barack Obama hopes will send a signal that renewable energy is feasible and environmentally shrewd."

Most global solar panels are manufactured in China and do not use American labor unions.

According to the Houston Chronicle, "Obama said in 2010 that he would retrofit his family's new home with solar panels starting in 2011, then use the power generated to heat water for the first family and provide some electricity. But the project remained dark until late 2013, when the installation finally started."

Obama claims that all solar panels were manufactured in the USA, but he refuses to name the companies involved in the White House solar project.
