Former Conservative Party French President Nicolas Sarkozy is receiving a new wave of support to dethrone French President Francois Hollande and return to power.
According to the Voice of Russia, "French President Francois Hollande would be beaten at the polls by both his center-right predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy and far-right rival Marine Le Pen if he ran for re-election this week, an opinion survey showed on Tuesday."
President Hollande has struggled with dismal popularity ratings after imposing a 75 percent tax on millionaires and getting caught red-handed in a scooter sexcapade scandal.
As reported by the Voice of Russia, "Hollande's popularity has plummeted to record lows since he came to power two years ago, with voters increasingly frustrated about his failure to kickstart economic growth and bring down an unemployment rate stuck above 10 percent, AFP reports."
President Hollande's prospects for winning re-election would be abysmal.
