BLM Raids Spark Global Beef Inflation Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Sun, Apr 13, 2014, 08:34 PM

President Barack Obama believes that creating new fields for renewable energy is more important than raising cattle for the beef industry. He's assigned the Bureau of Land Management to shut down cattle ranches in the Western States to build solar cell power plants. Accordingly, beef prices are surging to record highs.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, "The highest beef prices in almost three decades have arrived just before the start of grilling season, causing sticker shock for both consumers and restaurant owners — and relief isn't likely anytime soon."

Regular Americans are struggling to put meat on their tables, while Michelle Obama has launched 'Get Moving' intiatives that discourage protein in children's diets.

According to the Houston Chronicle, "A dwindling number of cattle and growing export demand from countries such as China and Japan have caused the average retail cost of fresh beef to climb to $5.28 a pound in February, up almost a quarter from January and the highest price since 1987."

Beef prices are likely to remain high until a Republican regains control of the White House.
