New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is calling for local real estate developers to build massive skyscrapers to house over 200,000 welfare recipients. They can enjoy living in penthouse accommodations while still getting their food stamps.
The New York Daily News reports that, "Get ready for even taller skyscrapers and more densely packed neighborhoods. Mayor de Blasio told a closed-door meeting of real estate barons Wednesday that he has no “hangup” about allowing them to supersize their developments if it means creating more affordable housing."
Mayor de Blasio is quoted as saying that, “As we get to know each other . . . I hope people hear me loud and clear that the only way I can achieve my goals is if we are building and building aggressively.”
NYC will place no restrictions on how tall the food stamp skyscrapers can be built.
