|Shocker!!! San Diego Elects a Republican for Mayor|

The ObamaCare debacle has proven to be so disastrous for the Democrat Party that even Californians are beginning to vote for GOP candidates. San Diego Councilman Kevin Faulconer trounced his Democrat opponent to get elected as the City's Mayor.
The Los Angeles Times reports that, "With more than half the votes counted Tuesday night, Councilman Kevin Faulconer had a sizable lead over Councilman David Alvarez in the special election to replace former Mayor ."
Nevertheless, Democrats are refusing to concede defeat until all votes are counted on Tuesday, which could hint at dubious ballot counting.
According to the LA Times, "Faulconer, 47, a Republican, was leading Alvarez, 33, a Democrat, by 57% to 43% among the 166,599 ballots that were mailed in or brought to the elections' department before Tuesday's balloting. Assuming that the overall turnout is in the range of 40%, as many political pros expect, those 166,599 ballots would account for about 60% of the overall vote."
Will California go Republican Red in the near future? Not likely, but hope springs eternal for GOP voters living in the Sunshine State.

If you did some research you'd see that San Diego has always been a red town. Our last mayor was an exception... The first exception since California achieved statehood. Unfortunately he embarrassed the city on an international level by sexually harassing women and was forced to resign.
So ultimately, San Diego's return to Republican status had nothing to do with Obamacare, but rather to do with the fact that the only Democratic mayor in the city's history turned out to be a perverted jackass.
So keep watching and waiting for other cities and counties to change color before declaring victory. San Diego is not a good city to judge against the political landscape of California.
