Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York had just announced that he would not welcome pro-Life supporters in his home state. Accordingly,Pope Francis would not receive a greeting from Cuomo if he makes a papal visit to New York City.
According to Fox News, "New York Governor Andrew Cuomo believes that pro-life activists along with anti-gay activists, and supporters of the Second Amendment, are not welcome in his state."
Gov. Cuomo is quoted as saying that, "Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are."
As reported by Fox News, "During a radio interview on Friday, Cuomo pointed out that Republicans were in the midst of a schism, where conservatives worked against moderate Republicans."
As leader of the Catholic Church in the Vatican, Pope Francis champions the rights of the unborn.
