Is Getting a PhD Worth the Trouble? Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Tue, Jan 14, 2014, 11:18 PM

In today's global economy, so many people are pursuing PhD degrees to improve their job prospects. However, it's caused unintended consequences, since so many job seekers are already PhD degrees' holders, and hence their certifications are growing more irrelevant.

Nevertheless, economic conditions have created a grave predicament. While having a PhD has decreased in value, it's now much riskier not to have a PhD. But that's only if you intend to work in the white collar field.
