Former Miss Venezuela Faces Long Prison Term in Texas Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Mon, Jan 6, 2014, 07:06 PM

A judge in Texas is telling the ex-Miss Venezuela, "Don't Mess with Texas." She could spend the next few years inside a prison cell for assaulting a stewardess on a flight from Houston to Bogota, Colombia.

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that, "A former Miss Venezuela is set for a federal court trial later this month in Houston after she was accused of causing a disturbance on an airline flight. Carmen Lechin faces a single-count indictment of interfering with a flight crew attendant. The indictment alleges she intimidated a crew member on a June 6 flight from Houston to Bogota, Colombia."

Carmen Lechin has a lengthy history of violent behavior such as getting arrested for domestic abuse charges in Colorado.

According to the Houston Chronicle, "The indictment further alleges that Lechin caused a disturbance through "abusive language," "assaultive behavior" and by refusing to comply with instructions."

Her trial date has been set for Jan. 27.
