More Democrats Find New Home with Green Party Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Thu, Jan 2, 2014, 11:16 PM

Some lifelong Democrat Party voters are beginning to doubt the Marxist idealism of President Barack Obama, U.S. House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. They are waking up and discovering a strong appeal of the Green Party.

The Houston Chronicle reports that, "A familiar face among Houston's progressive political activists is running for U.S. Congress to help create buzz for the Green Party. Nothing too unusual there, except Don Cook is running in Congressional District 13 in the north Texas panhandle, some of which is 600 miles from his home."

Cook is quoted as telling Democrats that, "I really feel that the Green Party sees problems that other people aren't talking about, and solutions to problems that people do see (that) are being ignored,"

According to the Houston Chronicle, "Cook was most recently on the ballot in November as a candidate for Houston mayor. He acknowledges that he's running not so much to win the office as to raise the profile of the Green Party."

The Green Party believes that Mr. Cook can persuade many diehard Democrats to rip up their party affiliation and start voting for Green candidates.
