BBC News Endorses NYT Benghazi Article Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Sun, Dec 29, 2013, 08:06 PM

The BBC News is rushing to the defense of a controversial article publiched by the New York Times about the Beghazi terrorist attack on the US Consulate in Libya on Sept. 11, 2012. The New York Times claims that al Qaeda was not involved in the incident in which 4 Americans were killed.

According to the New York Times, "Al-Qaeda had no direct involvement in the September 2012 attack on the US consulate in the Libyan city of Benghazi, according to a New York Times investigation."

The New York Times even claimed that the terrorist attack in question was not a planned attack, and was simply "spontaneous."

As reported by the BBC News, "The US ambassador to Libya, Chris Stevens, was killed when gunmen stormed the compound and set it on fire.  Some US Republicans accuse the Obama administration of failing to admit the involvement of terrorist groups."

Critics of the New York Times article on Benghazi believe that Hillary Clinton played a key role in pushing for the newspaper to publish this piece.
