BEIJING: Apparently, the Chinese government is mocking President Barack Obama's so-called 'Red-Line' foreign policy measures. Chinese Defense Ministry officials pointed out that the US deployed 800 jets to fly into the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone and in every incident, US fighter jets backed down and flew away.
According to the People's Daily, "China has closely monitored aircraft in the East China Sea Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ) since it was established in November, a Chinese defense ministry spokesman said on Thursday."
In the same period, China has deployed 51 surveilance aircraft to moniter the ADIZ.
As reported by the People's Daily, "Spokesman Geng Yansheng said at the ministry's regular press briefing that China had controlled the flight activity of 800 foreign war planes that entered the area between Nov. 23, when the ADIZ was established, and Dec. 22."
Geng is quoted as saying that, "the current tension was stirred by Japan's illegal purchase of the Diayou Islands despite China's strong disagreement, and Japan should bear the consequences."
