Cardinal Sean Brady, the Primate of all Ireland, has blasted IRA terrorists in Northern Ireland. He says they have "absolutely no mandate for what they are doing."
The Belfast Telegraph reports that, "The leader of the Catholic Church in Ireland has pleaded with dissident republicans "to respect the desire of the people of this country to live in peace."
Apparently, the IRA "still has the capacity to wreak havoc."
According to the Belfast Telegraph, "The rise in dissident activity includes an attempted bomb attack on a shopping centre at the end of November, a failed incendiary bomb attack last week, and shots fired at police in north Belfast."
Cardinal Brady is quoted as saying that, "there is no appetite for violence ... in Northern ireland."
