U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, a former Republican senator of Nebraska, is fighting against so-called militant jihadists in the U.S. Armed Forces. Accordingly, he has officially declared Southern Baptists as "hostile" enemies of the state, while refraining from criticisms against radical Islam.
According to AFA, "the United States Army has blocked the website of the Southern Baptist Convention from government computers, saying the Christian site contains 'hostile content.'"
An army officer assigned to a U.S. base attempted to access SBC.net from his government computer, however he received a message saying the site was blocked by "Team CONUS." The agency protects the computer network of the Department of Defense.
As reported by AFA, "this is just another example of the Christian faith coming under attack in the military. earlier this month, an Army email listed prominent Christian ministries like the Family Research Concil and Amercian Family Associaion as 'domestic hate groups.'"
The Pentagon's maneuver prompted Congressman Randy Forbes (R-WA) to interrogate Hagel about religious liberty topics during a House Armed Services Committee meeting held two weeks ago.
