A Republican Senator from Wyoming, Mike Enzi, has co-signed a tax increase bill that is likely to get passed into law. His 'tax and spend' partner: Illinois Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin.

According to the Daily Caller, "lawmakers are again trying to attach an online sales tax to larger legislation they consider more likely to pass."

The so-called Marketplace Fairness Act would permit states to impose sales taxes on products purchased online. It has been proposed as an amendment to the Senate budget for fiscal year 2014 by bill co-sponsors Wyoming Republican Mike Enzi and Illinois Democrat Dick Durbin.

As reported by the Daily Caller, "the National Retailer Federation sent a letter to Congress praising the amendment."

The group argues, "as the retail industry evolves and digital commerce becomes a more prominent portion of total retail sales, it is critical that the tax laws not discriminate between similar businesses based on how their products are distributed."
