Chicago Alderman Kicks Out Salvation Army Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Mon, Mar 4, 2013, 01:18 AM

Alderman Cappleman.jpgAn openly gay Chicago alderman, James Cappleman, and rising star of the Illinois Democratic Party, has just kicked out the Salvation Army from his district over fears the charity organization might attract more homeless people to live among his constituents.

According to UPI, "Alderman James Cappleman of Chicago has ordered the Salvation Army to stop feeding the poor in Uptown from outreach trucks the agency said."

On Friday, Capplemen informed the agency of his decision and ordered them to depart from his district’s premises in one month.

As reported by UPI, "'he decided he felt the unit was pulling homeless into the area, and he does not want us to feed them,' Capt. Nancy Powers, who oversees the Salvation Army's homeless program in Chicago, said."

Capt. Powers fears that the homeless in the war could die of starvation due to Alderman's decision.
