According to 5 NBC DFW, "Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins refused to appear in court Thursday to answer accusations that his office pursued charges against a member of a high-profile family at the behest of a campaign donor." D.A. Watkins had been called to testify by lawyers for oil heir Al Hunt III., who is charged with mortgage fraud. Hunt’s lawyers claim that Dallas attorney Lisa Blue demanded Watkins pursue the case. "But," as reported by 5 NBC DFW, "Watkins did not come to court. His office says Watkins believes he shouldn’t be forced to answer questions. It also says Watkins is to (race card) sick to testify." John Hueston, Hunt’s attorney said, "they came in and said he had some sort of executive privilege not to obey a court order. As I argued in court, I haven’t heard that since president Nixon did that with the Watergate tapes." Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins has been missing in action for the past few days and his aides are claiming he’s suffering from severe ailments of so-called alleged racist attacks conducted by the local media and his critics. Yet again, he has ignited a storm of controversy and accuses his critics of racism when they don't put a positive spin on all his deeds.
