Obama Hits Golf Campaign Trail Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Mon, Feb 18, 2013, 08:18 PM

Agay Golf.jpgPresident Barack Obama believes that since he got himself re-elected to the White House, he has earned the right to spend more time playing golf, instead of tackling federal government budget issues. A gay-friendly Florida newspaper explained that he is also "male bonding," whatever that may infer.

According to the Palm Beach Post, "President Barack Obama departed from an exclusive Treasure Coast club on Monday after three days of golfing and male bonding that drew criticism from the right and shrugs from the left and complaints about lack of access from the White House press corps."

At around 5:45 pm. Monday, Obama boarded Air Force One at Palm Beach International Airport after enjoying some 'male bonding' during Presidents Day Weekend at the Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, where the nation’s commander-in-chief played with Tiger Woods after getting some tips from renowned golf coach, Butch Harmon.

As reported by the Palm Beach Post, "First Lady Michelle Obama and the couple's daughters were on a ski vacation while the president golfed at the Floridian, which straddles the Martin-St. Lucie County line, features yacht slips and is owned by a major Democratic donor, and Houston Astros owner Jim Crane. The Stuart News reported that Floridian members pay a $50,000 initiation fee and $15,000 annual dues."

Palm Beach County Tea Party Coordinator Michael Riordan is quoted as saying that, "all I ask in any politician is that they practice what they preach. I know that this president in particular on the campaign trail has demanded that Americans sacrifice in hard times. I don’t see the same things coming from this president. That's a shame. I think the true leaders lead by example and I don't see that."
