According to the BBC News, "General Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, in comments posted on the military's Facebook page, said such a collapse could 'threaten future generations.'" He issued the statement following a massive military deployment in three municipalities besides the Suez Canal where a state of emergency was declared. As reported by the BBC, "more than 50 people have died in days of protests in violence. In response, President Mohammad Morsi has cut short a planned European trip." His spokesman claimed he would still visit Germany on Wednesday as scheduled, but his two-day trip would be cut to just a few hours, while his visit to France is cancelled.
