The hour is upon us.
I am grateful for this election day and for the flexibility that modern technology offers. At the same time, there is something pleasantly nostalgic about going to the local polling place to mix it up with friends and neighbors that you might not ordinarily see. I still have fond memories of the time my mother let me pull the lever for her during the 1968 Hubert Humphrey-Nixon election, or the time my grandmother sat me down to explain what her folks had to do to just consider the vote. There is power in community, whether it is virtual or physical.
Nevertheless, voter suppression activities seem to be well underway in a number of states. Yet the turnout in early voting appears phenomenal. Let’s hope that progressive voters do not let the right-wing block them. I can only assume that we will be discussing this tomorrow evening. Election Day 2012 could be a very long one, possibly replicating 2000. We shall see. Keep your marching shoes ready!

You conservative white can take this anyway you like. But this is a different generation of Black voters, you cannot and will not suppress their votes, today, these young folks are sitting back getting sprayed with no water hoses, they going to tear some stuff up and bring the hood out you try and suppress their vote.
