|Abe Lincoln Terrible at Debates, Claims Prof. Griessman|

Arguably, the greatest U.S. President in history, Abraham Lincoln had risen to political ascendancy during the Lincoln-Douglas debates when he campaigned for the Illinois U.S. Senate seat. Some might say he was also the best American debater as well.
However, Gene Griessman, PhD., an author of three biographies on Lincoln, disagrees with this notion by contending that Lincoln’s debating skills should be deemed as bad as President Barack Obama’s.
Yahoo reports that, “Gene Griessman, PhD. Has just released a new book, Lincoln and Obama, which compares all the similarities between President Abraham Lincoln and President Barack Obama. Gene Griessman is an expert on Lincoln and has published three books about him and often is asked to perform his famous speeches such as the Gettysburg Address. The book is an easy read guide book which offers historical comparison on these two fascinating individuals.”

I consider it an outrage that Dr. Griessmann believes that Mr. Lincoln is terrible at debates. What rock did he crawl under when writing his Lincoln Obama book?

Neither in my book Lincoln and Obama nor in Lincoln on Communication nor anywhere else have I said that Lincoln was a 'terrible' debater. Read the book. I did say they both are excellent communicators. Gene Griessman

I have read Lincoln and Obama by Gene Griessman. It is a great book and filled with interesting tidbits of knowledge and I encourage anyone to read it. However, I would like to point out with complete certainty that Griessman never stated Lincoln was a terrible debater.
