Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, raised $77 million in May, outperforming the George Soros-backed Democratic Party candidate, President Barack Obama for the first time.
Fox News reports that, “the Mitt Romney campaign and the Republican Party reported Thursday raising a combined $76.8 million last month, nearly doubling its April effort and outpacing President Obama’s campaign and the Democratic Party.” The $1 billion Obama campaign announced it and the Democratic Party raised a combined $60 million in May - $16.4 million more than in April. The May statistics would be the first time Romney has outperformed Obama on fundraising. According to Fox News, “the combined Romney effort – Romney for President, Romney victory National Finance and the Republican National Committee – also reported $100 million cash on hand.” Spencer Zwick, chairman of Romney victory, said, “it is clear that people aren’t willing to buy into ‘hope & change’ again.” To read the entire article from Fox News, link here: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
