BEIJING:Apparently, a mystery incident has occurred on the China-North Korea border in Northeast China. The Chinese government has issued an order suggesting that foreigners not visit the region.
No official reason has been given for Beijing's request to keep foreigners away from the border area of China-North Korea. However, some sources familiar with North Korean issues are speculating that military maneuvers have been escalating in the region since the death of Kim Jong-il, the former leader of North Korea.
North Korea's new leader, Kim Jong-un is perceived by some as weak in character and may be unable to keep a strong hold on his power. Accordingly, the military maneuvers by the South Korean government could be perceived as intimidation tactics, but nobody has concluded that South Korea would actually launch a strike, but instead utilize a bluffing strategy.
