The Ebby Halliday 100 Birthday Celebration,
benefitting college scholarships for the Ebby Halliday Fund of the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. - presented by AT&T

The gala dinner and concert on March 9th at the Meyerson Symphony Center will honor legendary Dallas entrepreneur and Horatio Alger Association lifetime member, Ebby Halliday on her 100th birthday with a special tribute. Halliday is well-known for her philanthropy, business savvy and entrepreneurial spirit which enabled her to create one of the most successful real estate companies in the nation

President George W. Bush and Mrs. Bush are Honorary Chairs.  Former Horatio Alger recipients Roger Staubach, T. Boone Pickens and H. Ross Perot are co-chairs. Steven Durham and his wife Barbara are the event chairs. Steve is the son of the late Charles W. Durham, a Horatio Alger Member.

The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc. http://www.horatioalger.org is pleased to announce that Andriana Chuchman will serve as guest soprano and will perform with International tenor Mario Frangoulis http://www.mariofrangoulis.com and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra conducted by Albert George Schram.

The March event will also honor Horatio Alger scholars from Texas who have persevered through personal challenges and adversities to achieve the Texas Horatio Alger Scholarship. Prior to the concert, the scholars will share their Horatio Alger stories from the podium so that concert guests can learn more about the Horatio Alger mission at work. 

The evening includes a VIP reception and dinner (for sponsors and underwriters); concert at 7:30 and dessert celebration.  All guests will receive a beautifully bound commemorative program at the concert, reflecting Ebby’s life and legacy.

Bronwen Weber, the celebrated Executive Chef of Frosted Art, who is frequently featured on the Food Network, is creating the showpiece of the Dessert Celebration.  This special themed cake sculpture will not only reflect the evening’s theme, but will be a unique masterpiece worthy of celebrating Ebby’s life and legacy.
