While Houston cops and firefighters are fighting crimes and fires, their union representatives are busy campaigning against the former mayor of Houston, Bill White.
The Texas GOP reports that, ‘Thursday, the Houston Police Officers’ Union said “not,” to Democrat gubernatorial candidate and former Houston Mayor Bill white with their endorsement of Governor Rick Perry. Recently, the Houston Professional Firefighters’ Association did the same thing. These brave men and women served directly under the leadership of former Mayor Bill White for 6 long years. They perhaps know this man better than any other group of people in Texas and they have resoundingly said he is unfit to be governor of Texas.”
In the upcoming legislative session, Gov. Perry announced he will make the abolishing of sanctuary cities an emergency item. Perry argues that Texas law enforcement professionals will have the discretion to utilize their better judgment as they work to keep Texas communities safe.
While Bill White served as mayor, these cops were killed in the line-of-duty by illegal immigrants: Randy Johnson, Gary Gryder, Richard Salter and Henry Canales.
According to the Texas GOP, “Mayor White left Houston much like he found it. A sanctuary city; where repeat criminal illegal aliens are allowed to run the streets and kill or seriously injure Houston Police Officers. Oh, but only if it would stop there. It was not just HP officers who were killed during White’s tenure as mayor of Houston. Many civilians were killed in carjackings, drunk driving accidents, and other murderous assaults. White did finally sign on to a much watered-down program called, ‘Secure Communities.’”
Nevertheless, Bill White blamed the federal government, not his open borders immigration policies for the unfortunate deaths of the Houston cops.

This pretty much "says it all" !
Perry is not from Houston, nor is he a DEM. Union groups most often prefer DEMS, and yet these union members have bypassed White who is from their hometown of Houston and is a DEM.
Good going for Perry; and a real indicator for White that after the election he is going to have plenty of free time ........

Perry WAS a Dem, changed party so he could run for office and serve under Gov. George Bush.
Still, White is an OBAMA Dem...very different from a minor RINO !
