Several years ago when Catherine Engelbert and her friends had a sit down to discuss politics; they suddenly realized that talking was just not enough. They consented to do more. Hence, when the 2008 elections rolled around “about 50” of her friends volunteered to work at Houston’s polling places. During the 2008 elections, Bill White, the Democratic nominee for the 2010 Texas governor’s race, was serving as mayor of Houston. Ms. Engelbert said, “what we saw shocked us. There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for peple that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.” Fox News reports that, “their shared experience, she says, created ‘True to Vote,’ a citizen-based grassroots organization that began collecting publicly available data to prove that what they saw in their day at the polls was, indeed, happening – and that it was happening everywhere.” She remembers, “it was true Tea Party moment.” Just like most watchdog organizations, she claimed, her group began small. They chose to investigate voting fraud in general, not merely at polling locations, and at first they weren’t even certain what to look for – and where to look for it. Engelbrecht said, “the first thing we started to do was look at houses with more than six voters in them,” since those houses were most likely to have fraudulent registrations attached to them. Engelbrecht added, “most voting districts had 1,800 if they were Republican and 2,400 of these house were Democratic … But we cam across one with 24,000 and that was where we started looking.” According to Fox, “it was Houston’s poorest and predominantly black district, which has led some to accuse the group of targeting poor black areas. But Engelbrecht rejects that, saying, “it had nothing to do with politics. It was just the numbers.” To read the entire article from fox News, link here:

written by furrpiece , September 26, 2010 Nobody wants to hear this, but voter fraud in Houston has grown exponentially - especially in the black and Latino communities - almost from the moment Barbara Jordan retired from Congress and joined the LBJ Library in Austin. She may have been among the last of the truly honest black leaders in Houston. As well, the growth of ACORN and La Raza in Houston has been accompanied by wholesale vote fraud and election corruption. This isn't news. People have known about it for years, but nobody had the interest or courage to take on ACORN, the unions, minority political hacks, and minority elected officials and correct it - including Houston Mayor Bill White. How do you think Houston keeps electing that unethical, dishonest, moron Sheila Jackson Lee over and over? A friend of mine in Houston who has worked the polls for 20 years says he estimates the Obama people stole almost one-third of the vote from Hillary Clinton in an attempt to win the Primary, and voted the living and the dead for Obama in November. (It's also no accident that Houston has been the primary Texas city where organized crime has existed.) This must be why some people refer to Houston as the Chicago of Texas.

written by Shadrach , September 27, 2010 Tom & Furrpiece: Democrats who claim Bush stole the election from Gore are wrong; Most Republicans who cry voter fraud, are wrong and are merely blaming registration fraud, which is easily proven as voting fraud if it voting fraud were actually happening. What is amazing about this FoxNews piece of so-called journalism is that it spends 698 words describing voter registration fraud and not a single word mentioning any actal voting fraud. Every voter's registration file has a voting history. Did even one of these fake people actually cast a vote or not? The answer is most likely "NOT!" Why not? Because nobody ever intends voting fraud through these frequently re-occurring improper mass registrations. What happens is simple: 1) Groups like ACORN and SEIU pays people to register voters and pay for volume. 2)They hire anybody who will do the work. 3) Some of these employees register fake people -- because they are paid more to register more and SEIU cannot verify their work. 4) The group is required by law to forwad the registration cards, so even Mickey Mouse at an abandoned lot gets registered. All of this is known; and none of it is voter fraud, it is voter registration fraud. Amazingly, nobody named Mickey Mouse ever shows up to vote. Why not? Because the one-man uber-registrating SEIU or ACORN worker does not care about elections, they care about getting a few more dollars for fake registrations. Take the lady who registered 8 times in 1-day. As long as each card was for the same name and same address, there can be no voting fraud, because no voting judge in a single precinct would miss this obvious fraud. But say there were 8 different addresses for the same person in 8 different precincts, then fraud could possibly occur. In either event, proper reporting would have been to check to see if this single person is recorded as voting more than once in a single election. Why did Fox not do this? Is the reporter lazy, unintelligent or hiding the fact that no fraud actually occurred? Even more, the person interviewed by FoxNews clearly does not know the law. She stated, "There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for people that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.” As a prior voting judge, it is easy to see that this well-minded volunteer simply is uninformed on the law. First, as long as you have a voter registration card in Texas there is no ID check. Second, if a voter asks for assistance, the judge is required to give it; yes, by explaining the voting machine first, but also by actually doing the person's voting if the voter is unable. My precinct has 2 nursing homes - I vote for a lot of seniors every election I work. What is the worst part of all this? Not the Fax did not do the basic research, that is to be expected. Rather, the problem is that real voting fraud does occur and nobody seems to care. How does it occur? Through stealing senior citizens' absentee votes. All you have to do is get a bunch of early voting mail voting applications, forge the signatures and steal their mail. This has been documented here in Dallas and in numerous other locations. There are no reported cases of any of the ACORN or SEIU over-registration events leading to even a single illegal vote. I have a crazy idea -- let's fix the real fraud and stop whining about the fake fraud.

written by Austin , September 27, 2010 What did Bill White have to do with any of this? He was not even on the ballot in 2008.

written by Ken Dickson , September 27, 2010 Shad, your Obama blood still flows...voter fraud in the minority communities of Dallas, Houston, as well as San Antonio has been there for years & will not go away until we go to a true voter ID law which the Dems will not allow because of the corruption to its core!

written by R , September 27, 2010 Shad's penchant for spin is unmatched. He sees things the way he wants to see them, so they must be true. Voter fraud bad, registration fraud ok??? "because no voting judge in a single precinct would miss this obvious fraud"--this assumes they are all honest, which they are not. I have poll-watched here several times. As just one example, I watched a man vote one time, then he asked the Clerk where a certain other precinct voted, because he had to get over there next. I reported it; nothing happened. There is NOTHING in place to check this out and see if there is vote fraud or not. Let's do a name check and address check sometime to see if there are duplicates. Are you willing to do that, or are you so infatuated with your brilliance that you can't imagine this happening? Wouldn't you like to actually prove us wrong? Go for it. But PROVE it. And don't blame Fox--this was in the DMN yesterday, and I don't think they use Fox.

written by mannys , September 27, 2010 i am inclined to say that NO ONE care about 'voter fraud' while the conservatives were easily winning texas but since the last time around when the house was almost lost all of the sudden its ACORN and SEIU that are committing voter fraud and corrupting the american process. i may be wrong but i dont think we have one conviction on voter fraud i think we have more jay walking convictions. What is this? simple its the same conservative power play M.O. Foxnews trumps up a story, guys like tom eat it up and push friend for legislation to STOP the voter fraud although if you look around the country their are very few convictions for this and the guy that did get convicted was a republican from san diego. the result the conservatives would like is to strip the right to vote from seniors, young adults and the poor who just dont have the money to go and get an ID, it may not sound true but in the poor communities some people have to decide 25 bucks for the ID or for food, these people typically vote Democrat. Less of those votes and conservatives win all the time.

written by furrpiece , September 27, 2010 Voter fraud in Texas has been a concern since before "Landslide" Lyndon Johnson stole the Senate election of 1948, where he earned the nickname "Landslide". As it turns out, he cheated on every election he ran in, and so did Democrats in that part of the state.

written by John Weekley , September 27, 2010 It is a fact that Lyndon Johnson stole that election, with the added drama of Ballot Box #13 being suddenly discovered and changing the election totals days after Johnson first lost the election. In much of South Texas, and even in the Hill Country, Democrats employed a method called "string voting" so that Mexican nationals could vote without speaking a word of English. Poll tax books would be bought with a variety of real and fake names. Then, on election day, trucks would drive into Mexico, pick up Mexican nationals, and they would vote up and down the border and into the Hill Country by placing strings with knots next to the names on paper ballots for whom they were supposed to vote. Then, on the way back to Mexico, they were given cheap whiskey, and sometimes a dollar or two. This is just one kind of cheating Democrats employed in stealing elections. If you want to read about LBJ's exploits at stealing elections, get the book "A Texan Looks At Lyndon". written by John Weekley , September 27, 2010 The question is asked, "Do Republicans ever steal elections?". Virtually in antiquity, Republicans who were part of the carpetbaggers who invaded the post-Civil War South DID engage in some election fraud. However, it wasn't so much fraud as it was passing ridiculous laws that kept certain people from voting, or that declared people winners in elections with few votes. Those states under martial law during Reconstruction often had instances of election slates being dictated to them by Republicans. (States like Texas still have weak governor systems because of Reconstruction and Union oppression.) Most election fraud by Democrats grew out of their cheating each other in primary elections. In Texas, factions developed to the point of conservative Democrats like Shivers fighting liberal Democrats like Yarborough.) There is also been a fair share of political cheating amongst the GOP "kingmakers" in the Northeast. But, instead of fixing elections, they just made sure certain people never ran, or never had money to electioneer. Like it or not, most election fraud in this country has been perpetrated by Democrats and/or their operatives and support groups. ACORN knew quite well they were registering fraudulent names. They've done this all over America, and they've done it for years...including right here in Dallas. Now, with the thugs from the New Black Panther Party, they can also intimidate voters AND steal elections. Since the Obama Justice Department will apparently not prosecute black election crimes involving Anglos or Asians, things can only get worse. The one thing that keeps us from becoming slaves to government, or anyone else, is free and unfettered elections. If we forget that, we're in trouble!

written by Bill Marvel , September 27, 2010 I don't know if this is a language issue or a logic issue. Most likely both, but: How can an "alleged" anything be rampant? It might be "allegedly rampant." That would be less alarming, perhaps, but more logical.

written by Shadrach , September 29, 2010 Here are two Houston Chronicle Articles that refute the "allegedly rampant" voter fraud, that every election cycle the GOP cries about, but is never able to show actually exists: "ACORN Sign-Ups appear Legitimate": http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/politics/6061198.html "Voter Fraud Not Rampant at ACORN" http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/falkenberg/6061112.html

written by furrpiece , September 29, 2010 ACORN always claims it's innocent, and that it is a victim of the people it hires to sign up new voters. Hogwash! ACORN hires its own people, quite often, to get those names, and hires the same dishonest people year-after-year to sign up Disney characters, the Dallas Cowboys starting lineup, and dead presidents. But, in Houston, its not just ACORN. The minority community in Houston, and throughout the Valley, has been cheating on elections for decades. Rigged voting machines, illegal ballots, election judges voting people in their precinct who didn't show up at the polls, booting poll watchers, etc. etc. ; you name it, Houston has done it. Go back and look at previous editions of the Houston Chronicle, and the Houston Post. You will find story after story over decades of voter fraud and election corruption that simply didn't get investigated. But, this isn't to let ACORN off the hook. ACORN, since the early 80s, has been a criminal enterprise that - in addition to election cheating - is also partially responsible for the economic meltdown of our country. They are the ones who went to the homes of bankers and intimidated them into making loans to people who couldn't/wouldn't pay them back. So, ACORN is very much a criminal organization that sucks tax dollars from the Democrats to do their dirty work. In the Trillion Dollar Stimulus, that budget was a whopping $8 Billion Dollars - the most ever.

written by furrpiece , September 29, 2010 The following blurb appeard in the WashingtonExaminer.Com in the "Beltway Confidential" column: " Obama activist is connected to vote fraud in Houston uncovered by local Tea Party group By: Mark Hemingway Commentary Staff Writer 09/29/10 12:10 PM EDT Blogger Patterico takes a closer look a that story in The Examiner first reported on this weeks ago, and that was followed by this Fox News report, but a local Tea Party group appears to have uncovered some serious allegations of vote fraud by a group run by an SEIU official. Blogger Patterico takes a closer look at the story and finds that the group is also connected to controversial activist with Obama’s Organizing for America campaign group: Guess who was active in recruiting for Houston Votes? That would be one Maria Isabel. Does that name sound familiar? It should. She is a radical Obama supporter who ran an Obama campaign office that sported a picture of Che Guevara. Her name resurfaced when we reported here that Isabel had invited Roxana Mayer to a Sheila Jackson Lee town hall meeting. Mayer, of course, is the woman who pretended to be a doctor to lend credibility to her support for Obama’s health care reform. Make sure you head over to Patterico’s site and review all the pictorial evidence. Read more at the Washington Examiner: http://www.washingtonexaminer....z10wR2qJk3 Write comment
