This year marks the fourth year for Expanding Worlds luncheon benefiting LaunchAbility and it’s going to be an exciting event, featuring three
Slated for Tuesday, October 26 at 11:30 a.m. at The Fairmont Dallas, George Kelly and Geoffrey Miller, Luncheon Co-Chairs and Cathy Packard, CEO, LaunchAbility, will be joined by Honorary Co-Chairs Ruth and Kenneth Altshuler and Honorary Chair Emeritus, Ebby Halliday.
This annual fundraising event directly benefits LaunchAbility’s programs that inspire hope, confidence and independence for adults and children with disabilities. For nearly 50 years, LaunchAbility, formerly Special Care & Career Services, has been expanding worlds for children and adults with disabilities by providing services to help them reach their maximum potential.

This program expands worlds for children from birth to age three with developmental disabilities and delays such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, impaired vision, and speech delay. Our staff of physical, speech and occupational therapists as well as social workers, early intervention specialists and a dietitian provide therapies and other supports to help improve children’s abilities at the age when they are most able to adapt.

This innovative program, a collaborative effort with LaunchAbility, Brookhaven College and Childcare Group, is improving the quality of child care across Dallas County by teaching child care workers how to identify and effectively interact with babies and toddlers with both typical and atypical development.
