Obama Sues Pro-Life Protester Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Wed, Aug 25, 2010, 04:05 PM

Abortion Florida.jpgA West Palm Beach, Florida pro-life leader is proclaiming her innocence after U.S. Attorney General Eric holder filed a lawsuit alleging she violated federal law prohibiting individuals from blocking clients from entering abortion clinics.

LifeSiteNews reports that, “filed in U.S. District Court on Wednesday, the lawsuit claims that Mary Susan Pine, 58, and another protester violated the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. The administration is seeking an injunction that would prevent Pine from entering any clinic driveway, and prevent any members of her pro-life group from blocking women from entering the abortion facility.”

Holder claims that in one altercation on November 19, 2009, Pine prevented a vehicle from entering the abortion mill parking lot by stepping in front of it. The pro-lifer may face up to a $10,000 fine.

According to LifeSiteNews, “Pine, who says she has been witnessing outside the clinic for 20 years, told LifeSiteNews.com that she and her group F.A.C.E. Life are innocent of the charge. It marks the first time anyone in Florida has been sued under the FACE Act.”

She said, “it was something to believe, because there’s no basis for it, so it was quite a surprise to say the least. We don’t violate the FACE Act.”

Pine insisted she doesn’t know who brought the allegation to the government’s attention, but suspects an abortion clinic employee is behind it. The pro-life leader claimed she is not permitted to remark on the details of the case, and that she has not yet been served with a warrant.

Also, Pine leads the local 40 Days for life campaign that she announced attracted 500 attendees last spring. Since news broke of the story last week, Pine reveals that pro-lifers have been supporting her from all over the nation.

Good for Holder. Women in America have a Constitutionally-protected right to reproductive services - including abortion. It is the law. Our elected officials swear to uphold the law. Interfering with that right is unlawful. Against abortion? Then don't have one.

Percy, shame your mother never frequented planned parenthood.

This was, at most, a criminal trespass, which is a purely local matter.

Has the term "enemies of the people" been used yet?
It may be coming.

Blocking access to things that are de jure legal is ok if the left disagrees with the law, but not if they agree with it. That's why comments like Percy's are vacuous.

Holder, a terrorist sympathizer, is just another Marxist low mark for the Obama regime.

Obama and Holder, two peas in a rotten pod, favor killing live babies who survive abortions, and seem to view children as disposable stage props instead of people.

Why is anyone surprised they would use the awesome power of the federal government to persecute an abortion protester?
