DFW Digs Dirk. But more importantly, Dirk digs DFW back.
The greatest player in Dallas Mavericks history has just made once the greatest contract-related gestures in the history of the NBA: Dirk Nowitzki has agreed to a four-year contract that includes around $80 million – an average of $4 million per year less than he could’ve demanded and likely commanded had he chosen to join his superstar peers and play the diva-coddling game of league free agency.
It would have been a bitter disappointment to lose Dirk - what an incredible fine person he is and a role model for our youth. He exemplifies all that is good and virtuous in a role model. He is definitely in the top five all time Dallas sports gretas - right up there with landry, Staubach and Aikman - but as far as a role model and man of character, I believe he is number One. May he play with the mavericks until he is 50 - even when his skills diminish, he will always be an MVP.
