Abortion Mills Coming to Military Bases at Home and Abroad PDF Print E-mail
by Tom McGregor    Thu, Jun 10, 2010, 10:10 AM
Abortion Burris.jpgUnited States military hospitals will soon open abortion clinics. The Senate Armed Services Committee passed an ammendment to the 2011 National Defense Authorization Act on May 27 that would overturn a long-standing ban on abortions performed in military medical facilities at home and abroad. In a closed session, the ammendment was passed 15-12. This has become another example of a stealth measure which is a commonplace procedure in a Democratic Congress hell-bent on sneaking through unpopular legislation.

The Washington Times reports that, "privately funded abortions on military bases were banned by the Reagan administration in 1998. President Clinton overturned the ban in 1993, but the ban was written into law by the Republican Congress in the 1996 defense authorization. The proposed ammendment would alter 10 USC section 1093 to remove this restriction and alow service women to receive abortions in military hospitals if they pay for the procedure themselves."

According to the Washington Times, "Sen. Roger Wicker, Mississippi Republican, painted a grim picture if the amendment becomes law. 'The medical facilities of our military installations,' he said on the Senate floor, 'will be able to be used for abortions performed late term, abortions performed for purposes of sex selection, abortions performed for any reason, abortions performed at will.'"

The ammendment had been introduced by Sen. Roland burris, Illinois Democrat, who shockingly links the measure to the war on terrorism. A Burris spokeswoman claimed that women serving in Afghanistan and Iraq must endure significant burdens to to obtain an abortion, and that "if you're not able to get access to services on the base, you're at the mercy of whatever medical services are out there. It's a pretty dangerous scenario."

This disgraceful, dishonest, ignorant Democratic puppet just needs to go home and stay there.

Our military hospitals should not be performing elective abortions, and it is currently against the law for them to perform them.

If a woman in the military gets pregnant, and decides she cannot or does not want to be a mother, then she can take care of the "problem" at her own expense. She should have thought about the consequences before engaging in sex - the primary cause of motherhood.

I would normally give our troops just about anything they want. But, asking taxpayers to pay for elective abortions violates the principle that government will not pay for abortions.

Burris is too stupid to know or care. But, whoever put him up to this certainly wanted to dodge the bullet. Burris, thankfully, is a very lame duck.

Burris should have all of his family members neutered to prevent the spread of really stupid DNA to future generations.
